Plug Up Holes in Abandoned Checkouts
With the new customized email flow, you can greatly improve your conversion rates by setting up automated email responses that reach out to renters who are abandoning during checkout flow.
Set your email to reach out a couple of hours after a potential renter drops off, and see your number of rentals increase dramatically.
Special Emails for Pre-Pickup and Post-Return
In addition to abandoned checkouts, you can now send emails with special messages (“remember to turn left at the massive oak tree — our sign is hidden in low light”) or instructions for renters before pickup or after drop-off.
How You Set Up Custom Emails
Navigate to your account settings, then email notifications on your dashboard.
You’ll then see you have a choice to write your own emails for “Checkout Abandoned,” “Reservation Submitted,” “Reservation Complete,” “Trip Begins,” and “Trip Ends.”
This is where you can now enter the email you want to use to cater your message to specific moments in your customer’s journey.
Choose your template, timeframe, then start writing. You can use merge tags to personalize the email, too. For example: Hello, *|renterFirstName|* will automatically import your renter’s name.
Once you’re done filling out your email, hit the green “save email” button, and your email will be ready to go.
Note that we are alerting you about this change to give you some time to set the emails up before they go live. The official switch won’t be for another week.
